The present moment is magical and in its womb is all the wonders there is to existence. We need to give due deference to the present moment as that is where all the life is. Nowhere, means now here. Dwelling in the murky past is living the same misery repeatedly. Realizing that no one can turn the clock back leads to catharsis and create a miraculous life for ourselves. No one can go and live in the past. Unless we consign the garbage to the dustbin of history, we will be miserable to no end. No doubt, its easier said than done. It requires herculean task to get rid of the murky past. The nightmare continues to haunt us for years. We need to make conscious efforts to get rid of the past so that we can live in the present which is blooming right now. We need to forgive the hurts perpetrated by others as we are paying the price of the sins of someone else. We need to bury the corpse of the past or else the ghost will keep tormenting us endlessly. Getting stuck in the past is keeping one leg in the quagmire of the past and trying to move forward. We need to learn from the past, turn into wisdom and prop up the present. Let the bygones be bygones. There is no point in roiling the dead past events. We need to die to the past and live fully in the present. Past need not be much before. Even a moment before is past. Living in the past with all the tormenting trauma makes very little sense. In dwelling in the past is squandering the precious gems of moments now in the present. As per the legendary Bard of the Avon Shakespeare “What is done cannot be undone.” We can atone for the blunders, sins and crimes but cannot undo what is done. Most of us keep regretting about the past which is sheer stupidity and only the moron will indulge in. We need to get out the rut of the past and saunter along the path of present which is pristine and primordial. Even nations need to get out the past-oriented quicksilver to enjoy the present wherein lies all the glory and grandeur of existence. We as a mankind must consciously get rid of the grudges burgeoning since centuries. Past biases are parochial and are ominous to the very existence of mankind. A third alternative is to come to the table with new ideas and out of the box thinking with a solution-oriented mind. Then living in the future is creating needless stress and anxiety. It is the fear and uncertainty about the future which props up hoarding and amassing wealth through devious and dubious means. Future-oriented approach creates insecurities goading us to resort to crimes which leads to mayhem, carnage, and devastation. It is the fear of the future which has made us crooked and
villainous. The future is illusory and mythical and is our figment of imagination giving rise to superstitious beliefs in astrology and crystal-gazing. The uncertain puts fear and ego in our psyches leading to stress, anxiety, and phobias. All the corruption, crimes, hoarding and hankering after wealth has future as raison d’etre. All the inequities and fearmongering in the world is fear of the uncertain future. The future-obsessed approach we compromise, and squander real diamonds called the present. This concept of Present has been beautifully explained by the legendary author Dr. Spencer Johnson in his epoch-making book The Present. We are all living in a perpetual and eternal present moment. Live occurs in the present and trudging along the past and future is killing life itself. Time is the construct of human making. Past and future are mere projections having no relevance to a meaningful and purposeful life. Happy and contented life and accepting the present as it is without wishing for something else really living in the present and that is as good as living in the abode of heaven. Unbiased acceptance of the moment makes the moment magical akin to aroma wafting from the blooming flower in the beautiful garden lasting till eternity and bestowing eternal bliss.
